If you are a half dead Zombie lobbying for your next meal or just a N.O.R.E. fan (”getting brain in the whip and not crashing it”) you need this Tshirt.

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009CARHART STREET-WEAR ANTOHER MOTOWN RECORDS…WTF
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

So was In Harajuku looking all over for a tee the said Tokyo on the front. The only thing coming up ironically were shirts that said New York. Then I roll up on the Carhartt street-wear store- I’m familiar with the work-wear brand(the rugged gear made in Detroit) so I was anxious to see their take on Street. Every other shirt had a reference to Detroit and especially reference to the electronic music scene(you can imagine my excitement). So I start talking to the store worker who speaks English and he informs me that the store just opened up and they have another store in Munich, Germany. I’m like WTF! all of this gear exploiting the D and you don’t even sell this shit in the city you rep. This is some bullshit. Motown records all over again. “Let’s exploit the name, the game, and culture and do it from long distance.” Suckas.
Being from Detroit this didn’t sit well with me because it is history repeating itself and its all too painful. My job is to bring you the flyness and this apparel is definitely fly and I love what they are doing with urban artist, so go to the site and cop a few Detroit tees. But a note to Carhartt and its decision makers, remember your roots and give back to the city that helped build you.

JORDAN CAMPUS CHUKKA - NIKE HARAJUKU EDITION
Sunday, November 29th, 2009After searching high and low for a pair of kicks that I wouldn’t find in New York(the Sneaker capital), I struck gold at the Nike store in Harajuku. Allegedly these only dropped for the Harajuku store(see earlier post). So the odds of anyone rocking these in New York are slim but not impossible. They’ve been out for two weeks so I’m sure I’ll see them on ebay or on the shelf at the low key sneakers stores here in Gotham.
There are more Tokyo posts coming later in the week, and check my Flickr link for random photos from the trip.
